Are your configurations pointing at exactly the same file path or copies of the same file? I'd try updating server so it's pointing at exactly the same file path if it isn't already.
The files are the same. Keep in mind that in Tableau desktop the TDC file location is not the same as the server and could vary. Anyway I did test this , same server and desktop location just in case and didn't work.
Were you able to resolve this issue? I ran into the same issue in my environment with no resolution steps in near sight.
