Looking for a Resource availability on a timeline

    KMSG Technology

I am working on a scheduling application. Now we want to display the resource booking/availability on a timeline (horizontal).

We have a lot of meeting rooms, we want to produce a dashboard where all meeting rooms are displayed on vertical axis. On horizontal axis/timeline, we want to display the time interval in hrs like (9:00, 10:00, ....). Meeting room might be booked from 9:30-11am and then available from 11-11:30 etc.

      Is this possible in Tableau?

If the DB table has only booking details, how can we display availability as well.

We need to display the booking/availability in separate colors.

      Any insights will be helpful.

          Hi ?,

Not sure but find my approach based on gantt-chart as reference below and stored in attached workbook version 9.3 located in the original thread.

          Step 1: Define Duration

Step 2: Drag calculated fields start time and end time to the column,

Step 3: Check "Dual axis" in the text menu

Step 4: Right click on Axis > text menu > synchronize axis

Step 5: Drag duration on the size-tile of the Start-time marks card

Step 6: Drag reservation on the colour-tile of the Start-time marks card

Step 7: Drag end_time on the tooltip-tile of the the Start-time marks card
