To downgrade the workbook from 10 to 9.3 do the following steps
Make the workbook as Unpackage. Right click on Workbook and Select Unpackage if workbook is packaged.
After unpackaging it again right click on workbook and select Open With option and select Notepad.
Make 9.3.0 in that notepad wherever you see 10.0.0.
After doing this changes again right click on that workbook and select Package workbook.
This steps will downgrade your workbook from 10.0 to 9.3.
Hope this will solve your problem. Please mark as correct if it works.

I must say thanks to Mr.Rajeev Pandey who told me about this tip. Thanks brother. You are awesome.I must also say thanks to Tamás Földi, Author at DatabossDataboss have talked more on this special features which are enabled in tableau in their blog Inside Tableau Desktop - DebugMenu, Override, GammaRay -Databoss . I happy to be in this Community where there are lot of people who share their knowledge which is very helpful to all the folks.
We can do this directly from Tableau 10 onwards. Please follow the below steps;
please attach your Tableau desktop to your Task bar. After that right click on that icon and click on properties. A window will open as mentioned below:
Now in target field which is highlighted in blue color after that command add this command -DDebugMenu as shown in screenshot.
After that click ok . and close all the tableau instances which are running. Then open tableau desktop you will see a new option Debug next to help option . please look at screenshot.
Now click on debug option. In that list you will have a option to save this file to lower versions. Please check the screenshot.
Tharashasank -- WOW!! Never saw that before.

Jaskaran -- Go back to what Clifton described earlier. You essentially edit the .TWB file in notepad.
THIS IS TOTALLY UNSUPPORTED, but in a pinch it might save you.
When you edit your TWB in notepad (not a TWBX, only a TWB) you are looking at the XML that makes up your workbook. Near the top is a line that says what version the file is.
If you have done anything in 10.2 that is new in 10.2, there is no guarantee that 10.1 will be able to handle it simply by telling the header of the twb that it's suddenly a 10.1 version.
I think it's your only hope here.
When you are done, be sure to save it as a .TWB file again, and not .TXT file that Notepad will want to save it as. And be sure not to overwrite your original. Give it a new name!
This is a great tip, but somehow the "Debug" tab isnt getting enabled for me, i just followed the steps given.
The debug tab was release way back when. But they took it out after a while. It's gone now.
I have a tableau workbook file in 10.3 version and i need to downgrade it to 10.2 version, so i can publish on the server which is still at 10.2 version, I tried
1. converting from twbx to twb
2. renaming 10.3 to 10.2
but still it doesnt work, not sure if there is any other way to achieve same?
There is a lot of discussion on this here:Convert .twb in 10.3 to 10.2 version
Lots of suggestions in there. But if you've used new 10.3 features in your workbook, I would never expect 10.2 to handle it. I don't know if that's your situation, but be aware of that.
Check out the thread I linked. If nothing from there helps you, I think you're stuck with your 10.3 workbook.
Yes that's the discussion i referred earlier, but it didn't work
