Can't add a second data source

    TerryLynn Delaney

Hi All.  I am trying to connect a second data source to a workbook I have been working in for a while, but Tableau keeps replacing the one I already have.  They are very similar in structure.  I have tried the following, please let me know what I am missing....

      1.  Navigated to a new worksheet and selected Data/New Data Source

      2.  Navigated to a new worksheet and selected the New Data Source container above Dimensions

      3.  Navigated to the Data Source tab and selected 'Add' to the left of "Connections" -this allows me to add a new connection, but creates a join instead of creating a separate data source.

      4.  Navigated to the Data Source tab and selected the dropdown arrow next to the container.

I think I am missing a step somewhere.  I can't seem to get the same results I am reading in other posts.  I need to add a new connection, not replace the current one.  Any clue on what I am doing wrong?

      Thanx
