    Dynamic Filter based on Parameter

    Elliot Stone

I have a parameter that is being used as a filter. I only want to show the Origin states where both the carrier selected and others both have a number populated. I've been trying to create a filter to filter out the Nulls when the carrier is not equal to "Other" but it hasn't been working.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!        Thank You.

You can achieve this in a few different ways, here's how to do it with a Level of Detail calculation.

Create a new calculated field as follows:

          {FIXED [Origin State]: SUM(IF [Carrier Parameter] = 'OTHER' THEN [Load Count] else 0 END)} > 0

          and

          {FIXED [Origin State]: SUM(IF [Carrier Parameter] <> 'OTHER' THEN [Load Count] else 0 END)} > 0

Drag the calculated field to the filter shelf and set it to 'True'.

This field will only evaluate to true when the SUM of the load count is > 0 for both the OTHER carrier and the 'non other' carrier which is selected.

            Tom,

Thank you so much. This worked perfect!
