# Create a formula that calculates from initial date to current data point.

Scenario:

2014 Sold 1 Product A

2014 Sold 1 Product B

What percent did I sell of A from everything I sold? 50% (1 out of 2)

2015 Sold 3 Product A

2015 Sold 0 Product B

What percent did I sell of A from everything I sold? 80% (4 out of 5)

2016 Sold 0 Product A

2016 Sold 1 Product B

What percent did I sell of A from everything I sold? 66% (4 out of 6)

How do I calculate this in Tableau to show the percent on a chart over time? I want to see 2014 show 50%, 2015 show 80%, 2016 show 66%

I can use an exclude level of detail to ignore the year in the calculation but that only gives me the final answer (66%) Is this possible?

You could have a table calc that is a RUNNING_SUM() from the beginning through current.  (Or multiple table calcs to gather and maintain the various components you need to manipulate for your math.)
