I found an KB article that might help but it's specifically titled for refreshing a data source extract, not creating one so I am not sure if it would be applicable to your situation.

I have the same issue now where after creating an extract, i am unable to connect to the live data. It is throwing the same error as your screenshot. Hope you have found the solution for this and will share it with me.
I am using MAKEDATE function in my reports which works only on extracts. kindly help me out.
I refered to the link below and couldn't find the option of "Remove Extract"
