Change the border thickness on an area chart

    Stephen Robertson

      Hi all,

I am trying to change the thickness of the border on an area chart (see attached sample workbook).  I'd like the thickness of the border on the area chart (see Sheet 2) to be the same as the thickness of a normal chart chart (see Sheet 1).

Any ideas how to do this?

      Thanks,

      Steve

          Hi Stephen,

When using an area chart there is no option to increase the border size from the marks card. On option to increase the size of the border is to use a dual axis chart to display the line chart over the area chart. See the steps below and attached example:

          1. Drag another instance of Metric from Measures to Rows
          2. On the Marks card, select the first listed SUM(Metric) and change the mark type to Line
          3. Right-click the SUM(Metric) on Rows and select Dual Axis
          4. Right-click the right axis and select Synchronize Axis and deselect Show Header
