Setting permissions to dashboards in a workbook

    Sahithya Reddy

      Hi,

I have a workbook having 4 dashboards. I need to conditionally set the permissions to the dashboards based on the user who are viewing the dashboard.

Let us consider the dashboards as A,B,C,D. Let us consider users as X,Y,Z.

I need to set a permission like when user X logs in, he need to see only A,C. If user Y logs in, he need to see only B,D. If user Z logs in he need to see A,B,C,D.

How can I achieve this. Can anyone help ASAP.

      Thanks,

      Sahithya

You will need to set up View level permissions on your Tableau Server. This is simple, go to Views, select a view and Permissions allows you to set the permissions for groups or individuals. For example you would select view A, Permissions, restrict permissions to All Users (which will probably have access by default) and add user X and Z. Same with view B but you would add user Y and Z. Etc.
