Creating a filter for a time period

    Martin Jakob

      Hi everyone,

I am new to Tableau have some difficulties to create a custom filter. I have a data set of hourly spot prices of the German electricity market spanning 2009-mid2016. It contains two variables, a date variable including year, day as well as time and a price variable. The price variable only contains prices smaller or equal to zero.

I want to analyze periods where prices were negative for at least six consecutive hours. I am interested in frequency and duration of these longer than 6 hours periods. I thought the best way to go was to create a filter to only show me said periods, however I just doen't seem to be able to figure out how to create such a filter. I tried creating a filter for days were the number of spot prices was larger than six but this didn't seem to work. I attached a preview of my data as well as the data set below. Anyone any ideas?
