# Using table calculation inside an LOD expression

How to use a table calculated field in a LOD expression . Any workarounds? eg: I want to do { FIXED [Month] : sum [field]} . Here [Field } is already a table calculation

• ###### 11. Re: Using table calculation inside an LOD expression

I want

State               WIndowSum

Alabama               7

Arizona                 8

No repetitions which the cities are casuing

• ###### 12. Re: Using table calculation inside an LOD expression

The simple answer is : No, you can't

Check the order of operations : http://onlinehelp.tableau.com/current/pro/desktop/en-us/Img/OrderofOperations.png

LODs are calculated before table calc's, and FIXED is calculated a long way before INCLUDE & EXCLUDE.

You'll need to find another way around the problem

Thanks for the "Order of Operations" Image and the explanation. Is there any other way to achieve this type of result?..I am stuck

• ###### 14. Re: Using table calculation inside an LOD expression

I can't download the workbook right now, but what's the [Flag] calculation ?
