# How to show percentage greater than a subset of population in a line chart

Hello,

I am trying to create the following view in a line chart with Date for the x axis and percentage of values greater than another percentage value of that data set

For example, below in July, 2016, I have 95% occurring 3 out of 10 times, which accounts for 30% of that data.  I want to create a line chart that shows for each month, what percentage of the data is above the percentage threshold.  This reflects on the line chart as being 30% for 7/1/16.

The data as uploaded into tableau in the raw format below with a pivot table I created in excel to simplify the explanation.  How can I do the counts, then percentages of those in each category, then plot is as such in the line chart.  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks!

 Date Value 1/1/2016 95% 1/1/2016 90% 1/1/2016 85% 1/1/2016 95% 1/1/2016 95% 1/1/2016 95% 1/1/2016 95% 1/1/2016 85% 1/1/2016 85% 1/1/2016 85% 4/1/2016 85% 4/1/2016 85% 4/1/2016 85% 4/1/2016 85% 4/1/2016 60% 4/1/2016 60% 4/1/2016 60% 4/1/2016 60% 4/1/2016 60% 4/1/2016 95% 7/1/2016 95% 7/1/2016 95% 7/1/2016 95% 7/1/2016 80% 7/1/2016 80% 7/1/2016 80% 7/1/2016 80% 7/1/2016 90% 7/1/2016 90% 7/1/2016 90%

 Date Value Count of Value Percent >= 70 Percent >= 85% Percent >=95% 1/1/2016 85% 4 100% 100% 50% 1/1/2016 90% 1 100% 100% 50% 1/1/2016 95% 5 100% 100% 50% 4/1/2016 60% 5 50% 50% 10% 4/1/2016 85% 4 50% 50% 10% 4/1/2016 95% 1 50% 50% 10% 7/1/2016 80% 4 100% 70% 30% 7/1/2016 90% 3 100% 70% 30% 7/1/2016 95% 3 100% 70% 30%

Hello,

Did anyone have a chance to take a look at this?

Thank you Yuri!

Is it possible to overlay all three parameters on the same line chart instead of three distinct charts?

Thanks,

-Nicholas

Just remove Measure Names blue pill from Rows.

Worked like a charm once again!  Thank you!

One last request.  I was recently asked to add the customer designations.  Each record would average over customer and then associate in the percentage groups. Instead of each row being unique, I would have the average of value for each customer.

I tried playing with averaging and LOD calculations, but no luck.

 Date Customer Value 1/1/2016 A 0.95 1/1/2016 A 0.9 1/1/2016 A 0.85 1/1/2016 A 0.95 1/1/2016 B 0.95 1/1/2016 B 0.95 1/1/2016 B 0.95 1/1/2016 C 0.85 1/1/2016 C 0.85 1/1/2016 C 0.85 4/1/2016 A 0.85 4/1/2016 A 0.85 4/1/2016 A 0.85 4/1/2016 A 0.85 4/1/2016 B 0.6 4/1/2016 B 0.6 4/1/2016 B 0.6 4/1/2016 C 0.6 4/1/2016 C 0.6 4/1/2016 C 0.95 7/1/2016 A 0.95 7/1/2016 A 0.95 7/1/2016 A 0.95 7/1/2016 A 0.8 7/1/2016 B 0.8 7/1/2016 B 0.8 7/1/2016 B 0.8 7/1/2016 C 0.9 7/1/2016 C 0.9 7/1/2016 C 0.9
