One view asks for credentials and others not.

      Hi,

We have a published workbook with some views based on two different DB of MS-SQL. Now we receive error "To open this view, you must sign in to the database that the view uses." for some views (based on DB1) and not for others (based on DB2).

Note: all the views of the workbook were connected live with "embedded passwords" at the time of publish.

      Thanks for help.

          Hello qamar,

Please try the following steps on Tableau Server,

          1. Open the workbook, and click the "Data Sources" tab,

          2. For each of your database connection, click "Edit Connection" and check,

          a. if "Embedded password in connection" is selected

          b. click "Test Connection" to verify the setting, if failed, re-enter the password and try again

          and then click "Save".

Afterwards, try to view the workbook again to check the results.

          Regards.
