Permissions for specific Users for specific workbook in a Project

    priya.danda

      Hello All,

I am new to Tableau Server.

      Here is the situation:

I have created a project called "Customers" in Tableau Server

There are 3 workbooks is this project "Customer" called .... "Workbook1", "Workbook2" and "Workbook3".

I have 3 users ---- "Priya", "Sunny" and "John"

I need to set permission for each workbook with different user as follows:

Workbook1 - Priya should only view workbook1 (Priya should not be able to view Workbook2 and Workbook3)

Workbook2 - Sunny should only view Workbook2 (Sunny should not be able to view Workbook1 and Workbook3)

Workbook3 - John should only view workbook3 (John should not be able to view Workbook1 and Workbook2)

In order to achieve this I created  3 Groups named as Group 1 (for user Priya), Group 2 (for user Sunny), Group 3(for user John)

For Workbook1: The following permissions were given:

      Group 1 : Interactor

      Group 2: Denied

      Group 3: Denied

For Workbook2: The following permissions were given:

      Group 1 : Denied

      Group 2: Interactor

      Group 3: Denied

For Workbook3: The following permissions were given:

      Group 1 : Denied

      Group 2: Denied

      Group 3: Interactor

Question: After giving permissions as denied, when I login as user "Priya", I am able to see all workbooks (Workbook1, workbook2 and workbook3). My question is user "Priya" should not be able to see Workbook2 and Workbook3. Its same with other 2 users as well.

Any help will be deeply appreciated.

      Thanks,

      Priya
