    Default style of Filters

    Sanjay Mistry

      Hello all,

We have set of dimensions - Regions, Line of Business, Department, Industry etc. These are long list of values. In order to make them smaller, I customize the filters to show "Apply" button because we want to give uses time to think before they see the results. Also, I have to select the style of filter - Multiple choice dropdown.

The challenge is that, on each dashboard or worksheet, I have to keep customizing each of them over and over and over. It is such a waste of time.

Is there a way to set the default behavior of quick filter style and customization?

Hi Sanjay! As far as I know, there's no easy way to do this in Tableau. You could potentially try editing the TWB XML to do this change in bulk, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you really know what you're doing.

Another option would be to set these settings on one sheet and then duplicate that sheet to make new sheets instead of creating blank ones.
