Hi Hamel! How are you trying to use the fiscal years, exactly? And can you provide a packaged workbook (with data sources extracted)?
So im trying to use them so when I selected Quarters as a date Q1 does not equal January, Feb, March its equals March April May, I cant really provide a packaged workbook because the data i am using is rather sensitive which makes it even harder
I suppose what I'm asking is whether you're trying to use fiscal years purely as a dimension on a shelf/mark, or if you're trying to use them in a calculation. Tableau functions will not take fiscal years into account, even if you enable that setting.
Yes that is correct I'm trying to use them as a dimension on a shelf/mark but does that mean a fiscal year will only start from Jan to Dec?
I have definitley seen it done before on Tableau.
If you're sure that you set the data source's date properties correctly, then try right-clicking the date field you're trying to use, going into "Default properties", and changing the Fiscal Year Start to "Data Source" there.
Perfect it worked!!
Thank you so much.
You're welcome! Could you please mark that as correct so this no longer shows up as unanswered? Thanks!
