Navigation using Drop down filter to different dashboards

    jatin kumar

Need to create a drop down filter that will be sitting in a dashboard.

Drop down filter will contain a list let say B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K,L,M,N,O,P

      Ideally B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K,L,M,N,O,P are different dashboards.

Lets say Drop down filter is present in Dashboard A.

when I select B from drop down it should take me to dashboard B and likewise.

Similarly when I select C from Drop down it should take me to Dashboard C.

All the dashboard are identical of one another.

Due to huge number of Dashboards, these can't be placed in a single dashboard using the concept of sheet selector (Creating a Sheet Selector for a Dashboard | Tableau Software )

Please help if its possible to work this out.

          Hi Jatin-

You can't do this with a dropdown, you need to use an action to navigate between dashboards.

So create one sheet and a field called Navigation

I put it on rows and on shape to create this little sheet.  This can be floated/tiled on all your dashboards.

Change the Tooltip to On Hover

          Then setup dashboard actions filters.

You can create different filters for each dashboard on a single sheet.

Here is an example linking to Postal Code and Region from City

Here is the tooltip from another tab:

These will be alphabetical based on the title you give it when creating the action so number/letter if you need a certain order.

Take a look at the attached version 10 workbook.  I created three dashboards and custom actions to navigate from one to another.
