Are you using any expression using the function RAWSQLAGG_SUM() ?
Thanks - Manideep
Oh, I'm not, but was using RAWSQLAGG_REAL instead. Deleting that field calculation removes the error.
Why so btw?
Hi - When you connect to a Live database through Tableau and write any SQL (Select) statement to the database, Tableau first interpret the SQL expression and try to optimize that to get faster result and then Tableau send that to Database. Most of the time Tableau optimizer engine works beautifully. But sometime Tableau fail to optimize the SQL and advanced user prefer to send direct SQL to database and use Tableau as a Pass-through tool.
In such scenarios advanced users prefer to use RAWSQL functions. But there is a big word of caution. Since Tableau is not parsing the SQL statement, so the entire responsibility is actually shifted to the SQL coder. In such scenarios, we might get these kinds of errors.
Unless we have a specific scenarios, we should try to avoid using RAWSQL. Hope I have made this clear to you.
Thanks Manideep, appreciate the help & explanation.
