Alteryx is great - it can do almost everything you would want to do. Data prep is simple within Alteryx even for those less technically minded, it's just drag and drop. I can't comment on Datawatch, I've never used it.

I am using Alteryx. It offers everything we'd expect from an advanced ETL tool.
Datawatch is a fast and easy way to make virtually any kind of data analytics ready for Tableau.
With Datawatch, you not only access structured data from databases and spreadsheets, but you also gain access to 'dark data' trapped in your enterprise reports, sales reports and invoices - data sources that normally would have you re-keying data manually. You can then join these different data sources, prep and transform them, and then export right to a TDE file.

We use Datawatch Monarch along with their Automator product for our ETL. The tools are user friendly and easy enough for our new employees to learn quickly. The tools allow us to standardize the information across platforms and provides us with the ability to take any file type other than scanned documents - even those PDF files that are sometimes difficult can be extracted.
