    Top N function not working properly using SAP HANA as a data source

    Sakthivel S

      I have used Top N function while using SAP HANA as a data source.

      I am able to apply the TOP N function and retrieve the result. Grand total is not showing correct values for Top N function retrieved result set and it is showing data for All data set result.

      I have used below calculation  to get Grand Total result for only Top N in another worksheet and it is not coming properly.

      If [Rank] <= 10 Then "Top N"

      Else "Others"

      END

      Let me know if you have faced any issues similar while using SAP HANA view as datasource.

          Hi Sakthivel,

          There's nothing specific about HANA

          with regard of Top N filters or such.

          Could you please write your [Rank] calculation?

          Where it is going from? Datasource? Tableau?

          If latter, is it just RANK(...) of something, or else?

          There are two ways of doing Top N filters in Tableau:

          1) Top N Dimension Filter

          2) RANK() Table Calculation Filter

          The desired Grand Totals (Top N only)

          would come from the former, not the latter.

          Hope it could help.

          Yours,

          Yuri
