Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to display a view for a user, while masking out identifiers for other users, but still displaying the other users' data. E.g., in the example attached, if Peter logs on to his account and accesses the dashboard through tableau server, he can see his own infection rate with his name is displayed in the viz. He can also see others' infection rates but others names will be masked. Similarly, when Jane logs on to her account and accesses the dashboard, she will see her name and her infection rate, but not other peoples' names.
Any suggestion is appreciated! Thx all.
You need a field in data to match login functions.
In Tableau you have Username() function.
If you create this value even if in a calculation(lets call it user), you build a boolean filter user = Username() , drag in filter shelf and set to true value.
