Can you restructure your data to a flatter model? i.e.:
User City Rank
User1 San Fran 1
User1 Madrid 2
Each user can mention the city once. In other words, the user can mention a city just once. User1 can't mention Madrid twice.
I think I've explained myself badly. I'm suggesting you 'unpivot' the data making your wide dataset tall and thin. Perhaps Rank was a bad column name, maybe CityNumber would have been better.
User City CityNumber
User1 San Fran City1
User1 Madrid City2
I have 2M + observations. That will create a massive data set. I have ranked the cities already and a set for city1 to filtered by. I just want to know if it's possible to carrie over the set to the other cities to avoiding me to recreate the same set for the other city fields.
I don't know if the question make sense.
I'm not aware of it being possible to carry the same set over to other fields.
You might be surprised at Tableau's ability to handle 2m+ records lightening fast.
I'm with Andrew, even if the pivot multiplies the rows to 10M it'll still be fast.
