Have you got the log file for the failing DataEngine process?
Has anything changed on your environment, or has it just suddenly failed?
I get these once in a while but Friday I had multiple failures, including BOTH Data Engines being stopped at least one time. I was also having a licensing issue Friday but after a server reboot everything is back to normal.
There are 244 tdeserver64-error...dmp files (0KB size) and 472 tdeserver0_2016_07_29...log files! So yeah, I have some logs It was just more or less a sudden failure but appeared random. I have a report that runs every minute and if any of my processes is not RUNNING then I get an warning email:
As you can see by the times that it wasn't failing all the time.
Example email for the curious:
I'm looking at the logs and I see a "License Check failed, Data Engine is not licensed." error, however!, I see that error during times that I didn't get a warning email. It just seems that the logs are not complete or I am myself just missing something. I don't want to increase the logging level higher as the issue appears to have passed but who knows if/when a random one will pop up like they sometimes do.
