I understand that this is pretty complicated data source issue.
On the server, you can publish the data source itself to server, then re-connect to that data source in server.
That's the case of Price**** data source.
And Billing*** is still connecting to SQL directly.

So you mean to say that I have published the “Price**** data source” in the server and not Billing *** data source.
In that case which is the best method of extracting data source for high performance.
Any case, Publish the data source to server will promise you higher speed performance.
But the methods are depends.
When you have original file in other location and that original file in other location is updated.
- You can extract data and publish them to server,
- Set auto-refresh from Tableau server with adding right permission to original data source in other location
- There were some tricky situations happened in my case which was difficult to share in community because I could not disclose it.
If this is one time publish, you can publish to the server anyways.
Then connect to the data in server as new data source,
Then, replace data source from "Extract" to "Tableau Server" data source.
