You have 'month' on the columns shelf set to continuous. Tableau is going to spread out your columns based on the available white space and size them somewhat automatically.
If you right click your 'Month' dimension on the columns shelf and select 'Discrete', you will gain more control to make them much wider.
If you need to keep your dimension continuous however, you can force the width with a little trick.
1. Create a calculated field and set the formula to be 1. Just the number 1, nothing else.
2. Drag your calculated field onto the size button on the marks card. Right click it, select Measure, Maximum.
3. In the new sizes card which appears, click the dropdown arrow in the top right and select Edit Sizes. Change the top option to be "from zerO' and drag the slider all the way to the right.
