Adding a date field for incremental extract

    Jim Wu

I am wondering if it is possible for me to add a date field to a MySQL connection such that I can use it to perform incremental extracts. The goal is to be able to see the number of entries in the database each month on a timeline, and I've no way of editing the MySQL database. I've tried to use a calculated field for this, but with no success. Any input would be great.

      Thanks for your thoughts

Your only option is probably convert your relation (whole join or just one table) and add CURDATE() as an extra column. This way every time extract is refreshed - new rows will get a refresh date in them so later you can build up any logic you want on top of that (i.e. running total).

Try that and report back - looks like someone else is watching this question.

          Good luck!
