ps: although the article below is for doing the opposite of what you are truing to do (switchng from distributed back to single node) i find it very useful as it contains awesome resources.
how do we do back in distrubuted environment,is it taking back-up of primary system are we need to take back-up of workers also?

Only one back up command backs up your whole environment. Back up is executed from Primary host and it backs up everything included workers. There is no need o run additional backup on workers.
