# Achieve ratio target

Hi I am looking to try to get tableau to create a volume of sales that I need to hit a particular mix% target

The problem is that I only have a % target and when I add on one sale it will impact the numerator and denominator. So the only way that I can think of doing it is declaring a variable and then running an IF loop to add one to the required sales and validate if it would meet target. However I am new to Tableau so don't know if it is completely possible or how to go about it. I have a sample of what I mean below.

Sales of product ASales of product BProduct B Mix%Product B Mix% TargetSales of Product B required to meet target
10533.33%50%10
5550%55%

1

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jamie,

I apologize at the outset if I didn't catch the full implications,

but I think it can be done with one calculation.

If I understood correctly, each row is a different region

that has different targets, or are the rows somehow interconnected?

If just the former, I think the needed increase in sales is equal to

[Target B]*[Sales A]/(1-[Target B]) - [Sales B]

I think the formula is correct, but I will note that it gave me 5 for

the first row in the example.

Thanks Swaroop this really helped thank you so much

This was my mistake, I hadn't worked it out correctly
