How can I concatenate two measures without using the str function?

• ###### 1. Re: how to concatenate measures?

The same way you concatenate two dimensions using  the "+"

But you will need to apply some math to each measure to get them to look like concatenations.  The common use case for this is date  YYYY + MM + DD which all could be separate measures.   To concatenate these you would use

[YYYY] * 10,000  + [MM]*100  + [DD]

Thanks for the answer , but my problem is that I want Show two measures in the same cell. For example : sales and discounts in the same cell ..

However, when using concatenate it returns the error: Can not add floating values and string.

I figure I'm doing

Sales + " " + discounts

You can assimilate this by using Measure Names as shown in image below:

Hello john , thanks again for the reply .

My problem is more complex than it seems, since I already have names of measures in line with several fields ... what I want to do to solve my case and concatenate measure to measure, but the forums I only see information about concatenating dimension with dimension ... and when I try to concatenate it says it is not possible to add floating with string.

Yes I understand that you cannot mix types nor can you include dimensions (eg. strings) in a measure value.  I'm not sure why you need to combine these into one cell rather than keeping them separate and in adjacent rows labeled accordingly.

One possible option is to create a second sheet without using measure values and use the string with both values concatenated in the cells and align the two sheets together.
