Previously when you used a bar graph you had your customers in the view in such a way that the bars were aligned horizontally with each other. Table calculations (your rank is a table calc) by default usually run across a table or down a table. When customer name is in the rows shelf or columns shelf this logic easily applies.
Now in your case your customer name is on the details shelf and so running across a table or down the table will do nothing. In fact if you drag your ranking calculation onto the labels shelf you will see that everyone has the same rank.
To solve this right click your 'Top/Bottom' ranking calculation on your filters shelf and go down to 'compute using'. Then select 'Customer Name'. This tells it to rank based on the customers in the details shelf instead of what it finds in the table by looking across.
Great Explanation Carl.
This is just FYI, if you fail to understand compute using what you can do is follow the below steps.
Create a simple crosstab as below.
Then put you boolean field in the filter section which will prompt you true and false. Select true in this case.
Go Ahead and click on scatter from "SHOW ME" button.
and its done.
PS: I used this method.
Thanks and Regards,
