Method to separate data in display and/or draw "divider lines" ??

    Alvin Tarrell

I am doing a study to examine "Health Literacy" among a sample of adults, and then among sub-groups divided by age, income, and education.

I found some earlier posts that helped me build a worksheet that showed the averages and the associated error bars, but now I want to separate the three sub-groups somehow, either by adding blank space in the display, adding dividing lines in the display, or something like that.

(I am not experienced enough to know if this is easy or not, but i seem to be struggling with it.)

      Thank you!!

          Hello.

I can see two simple options.

          1) create a calc that builds an additional column. The calc could be as follows:

          case [Group]

          when "Older" then 1

          when "Younger" then 1

          when "More Educated" then 2

          when "Less Educated" then 2

          when "Higher Income" then 3

          when "Lower Income" then 3

          when "Overall" then 4

          END

You could either use integers and then label the aliases or you could go straight to strings.

          2) Create a secondary datasource and blend:

          GroupHierarchy
          Lower IncomeIncome
          Less EducatedEducation
          YoungerAge
          OverallOverall
          Higher IncomeIncome
          More EducatedEducation
          OlderAge

          Please see the attached workbook.
