    STR(DATE) including time

    Erik Magnuson

In Desktop 9.3, I was following this tutorial (Plotting two different time series on the same line graph in Tableau – Talk Data To Me ) and it all went well except that when I used STR([DATE]) it includes "12:00 AM" at the end.

From other reading it seems like this is not the way it worked at one point, did something change in the new version?

I'm not entirely sure what output you were hoping for but if you wanted a simpler looking date and times are not important then you could change the data type for [Date] to be a date rather than a datetime.  (Right click the name in the data window and select change data type)

          Good luck
