Seven workbooks can be shown as different seven different buttons in the dashboards.
Step 1 - Place all the workbooks in a single row on the top, in the dashboard.
Step 2 - In the dashboard, action option, click the appropriate filter
Step 3 - Select the appropriate field to be filtered based on the button selected, which has to be a column name.
Step 4 - Save and Close
Repeat the same for each dashboard
Not sure if I am not clear with my Question.
As I mentioned , I have 7 different .twbx files.
I want to display all these as different tabs in a Dashboard.
As I know from the above comments I can display as tabs only if we have all the dashboards/Sheets in one workbook.
Please share the workbook for the above suggestions.
Open any workbook
Click File --> Import Workbook..
Import all workbooks into a single parent workbook
Note: each child workbook will have its data source.
Thank you for the update.
From the above option I can combine but my main dashboard will have huge data as I am importing all the workbooks into one and with respective data sources.
We have have a memory limit for a workbook which cannot go beyond that.
I liked the option on embedding the different dashboard as url in main dashboard, but if it is Tableau public it works and in my case as I mentioned SSO failed.
Try to create individual live extracts for each dashboards. and then either have it in the form of
- Stories or
You can just create a landing page dashboard where you'll have the links for all the dashboards in image layouts.
You need to take a screenshot of thumbnail of your workbook like this.
From the workbook you have options to see the workbooks and dashboards in thumbnail. See the screenshot.
Once you click you will get this view of your workbook. Just crop the thumbnail and save the image. In the similar fashion you can save all the images of your different workbooks.
Then open the tableau desktop create a new blank dashboard. Just drag the floating image in the dashboard. Once you drag it will ask to select the image from the file open window.
set the saved image for workbook1 where you have saved your images.
Place the image at top left corner. Then you just right click on the image you will get set URL option. Put the valid URL of your published dashboards for workbook1.
set the URL. In the similar fashion you will have rest six images for your remaining workbooks with set URLs on images.
Once done then publish this on tableau web. Share the link of this new dashboard and share it to your users.
I hope this will help you.
Feel free to ask if you have any query.
As I mentioned earlier I already tried this option embedding as image with url.
This failed sue to SSO enabled as I am hosting the other dashboard in my company server.
This can be easily achieved in Tableau Public but not on the company hosted server.
If you have tried and have a solution please let me know.
For Stories , again I need to import different workbooks which I dont want to do due to memory limitation.
