    Hi, good day, I have a problem doing a filter with this data:

      For example, I have this:

             

           abc = (a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i,j,k)     --> this is dynamic, it could include l,m,n,o,p, etc.

           num = (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10)      --> this is dynamic, it could include 11,12,13,14,15, etc

       

           Now I need a filter for field abc, in wich when I select a, i get the value 1 from field num, if i filter b i get 2, if i filter c i get 3 and so on. I cant create a relation between two fields, Each field of abc has  a value in num (both field have the same length).

      My filter should looks like this

          That's a bit of a strange data structure, and should generally be parsed out into a proper tabular format, however, if I understand your question correctly, the following may work:

           

          1. Create a parameter called String Parameter (Right-Click a dimension or measure in your Dimensions/Measures list on the far left, and select Create-->Parameter)

          2. Right-click your Parameter, and select Show Parameter Control. Make this a type-in parameter, or provide the full list of options they might need to select if you know all possible values

          3. Create a calculation that looks something like this:

          MID([num],FIND([abc],[String Parameter]),1)
