Tableau Desktop has no built in way to create this view. I suggest to make by making the components and integrating the information in a dashboard. The connection lines (the "x" and the ":" ) would be images that are placed in between the data views.
Building this view in a dashboard means that the view structure will be fairly static; meaning that charts will always be the same in relationship to each other.
I have included a rough sketch in as a sample workbook. The dashboard can be enhanced using dashboard actions to filter, highlight, etc

I would use a dashboard with 6 different sheets.
On the first one, I would add a Filter Action which opens the first/second sheet. remember to add "Exclude All Values" from "Clearing the selection will:" on your Filter Action menu. Create a new similar Filter Action for each of the sheets.
I have a sample workbook (Warehouse example) - where a "Drill Down" dashboard will open one new sheet at the time, I've not tried to open more than one sheet at a time - I'm not sure if that's a requirement (or if it's possible). I can send you this on e-mail.
Hope this helps!
Thanks John! Much appreciated.
I'm looking to make the expand and collapse dynamic as well. Also, will it be possible to add drop down/filter to show only say 2011 data?
