We run Oracle Hyperion (on Premise), but are seriously considering migrating to the cloud (PBCS)
We have been successfully connecting to Essbase BSO cubes - ASO cubes do not work

This is unfortunately not supported at the moment. We expect to connect to Essbase via TCP/IP, they appear to be using some sort of HTTP endpoint if it is even that.
I actually don’t think the Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service exposes the back-end Essbase database for users to connect to.
This link should help you to create a private connection from a connection that is not listed in Shared Connections if you know the URL.
To be short: The ability to connect to an Oracle data source hosted on Oracle Budgeting and Cloud Service is not currently built into the product.
This would be a wonderful suggestion to add in our Ideas category if you want to improve tableau
We are currently transitioning from on prim Oracle to FITC, PBCS, and BICS. We are interested in finding ways for Tableau to connect. I will be following this for future development.
