    Processes in Tableau Server

    fawa.guest

      Hi everybody,

      is there a way to edit number of processes of ( backgrounder, Data server, data engine ... ) without doing it manually in the menu Edit Tableau Server (Configure Tableau Server) ? I tried to change numbers in the properties files on the config folder (Tableau Server\data\tabsvc\config) and restart but nothing has changed on the menu ... please if you have an idea share it , I need to make run a command to change numbers ...

      tab.png

      I tried to change this on all the files backgrounder.properties,clustercontroller.properties,dataserver.properties,filestore.properties,tabadminservice.properties,vizportal.properties,vizql.properties,wgserver.properties,workgroup.yml.properties.

      But it doesn't work :

      worker0.backgrounder.procs=1

      worker0.cacheserver.procs=2

      worker0.dataengine.procs=1

      worker0.dataserver.procs=2

      worker0.searchserver.procs=1

      worker0.vizportal.procs=1

      worker0.vizqlserver.procs=2

      worker0.wgserver.procs=1

      worker0.zookeeper.procs=1

      Thank you in advance

          To change the server configuration, you need to use the following tabadmin commands.:

          tabadmin set [property name] [propertyvalue]

          tadadmin configure

          tabadmin restart

          example:

          tabadmin set worker0.backgrounder.procs 1

          tadadmin configure

          tabadmin restart

          Make sure you know what properties are safe to modify and of course, test the script thoroughly and take a backup before running...I would not generally make these kinds of config changes myself except through the UI.

          (edit: corrected typo in example)
