What did your Tableau administrator tell you?

Keith Hafer Jul 31, 2015 8:33 AM (in response to Keith Hafer)And, to add a little more information...I am simply trying to post a basic scatter plot file to the server when getting the error. Strange part is it allows me to post error free, and to be viewed error free, if I remove certain filters (which makes no sense to me). Problem, I need to have the filters that are there. Thanks.

this error is very general and almost impossible without having more diagnostics. What version of Tableau are you using? Are you putting parameters into your filters? Is it a live connection? Have you opened a case with support?

Then your administrator isn't doing their job (which I find unacceptable)...time to pull in your manager and get some muscle behind your request for help.
I agree with Jeffrey, it's too generic. Trouble is, if you open a case with Tableau Support they're gonna need the Server log files, however, working with Support is really your administrator's duty, so it sounds like you are in a bind. Again, if your manager is unwilling to help then contact the administrator's manager.

Nick Bachofen Aug 4, 2015 7:47 AM (in response to Keith Hafer)Can you explain the filters that are causing problems? What is your data source? Does the data source change from desktop to server? QA data to PROD data?
An example we have had is that we created a SET which we used as a filter but once we deployed out the dashboard the data changed and cause errors.
