I've spent a long time today figuring out how to create side-by-side bar charts. I learned that these are easier to make if the dataset is reshaped long (instead of wide). That worked. See attached: each set of bars belongs to a unique variable.
However, the charts show unweighted counts as mark labels. I would like weighted proportions instead. How would I do this? FYI available in the dataset is a person weight. I know how survey weights work; I just don't know how to apply them that well in Tableau.
Alternatively, is it easy to create side-by-side bar charts with a wide dataset? If so, how? I know how to apply survey weights with wide datasets.
It would be best if you could attach a sample workbook with your scenario. This will allow us to work with the packaged workbook and potentially come up with a solution. Thank you.
