Agreeing with Toby here. There is no open or known issue related to installing issues and c++. No other similar reports from what I can find. This sounds like an environment issue related to your setup. If a uninstall/reinstall does not resolve the issue, please include as much information as possible (logs, error messages, etc.. ) in a request to support here: Submit a case to our support team | Tableau Software
The reported problem occurred on a server with Windows Server 2012 in its factory default installation. After numerous attempts to install / uninstall, we installed the version 8.3 successfully. After removing the 8.3 and install 9.0, the installation was successful. I am not sure about the "c ++ redistributable 2005". My problem has been solved, as i said.
