I have a parent map with an action filter to connect to a child map. Think of it as a drill down from state to county. While the filter works the problem is the map drill down never automatically zooms in close enough to where you don't still have to manually zoom in. I want to be able to have logic that says something like zoom in to the maximum amount while still showing all data points for that state in a single view. I'm not sure if this is possible but it would be great to somehow code this. It's kind of like with Adobe PDF, you can set the file options to open at a certain magnification level. That's what I want to do with my filter.
Maps DO auto-zoom (it's actually hard to make this stop happening), so there must be some data points on the map that is stopping it zooming to the level that you require. Tableau will zoom the map to the point where all the data is visible though.
