    Tableau server Impersonation issue

    Benson Zhao

      Hi,

We are using Tableau server v8.2.

We have created a SQL SERVER view to join two different tables from two different databases within one SQL SERVER instance. And use that view as a data source in Tableau Desktop.

When publishing the report to server using a specific SQL Server account, there will be no issue. But if i used a AD account and using the authentication impersonate via server run as account, the report cannot be published and will met a internal error.

But if I create a view to select the tables within its own DB, there will be no

      such problem.

Does tableau server not support the SQL view that join tables from different databases when using impersonation? Even they are in the same instance?

      Please advise.

      Thanks.
