Any other work around other than this ? You wouldn't want every one facing the issue to install .crt certificate. Personally, I do not think that it is a good practice.
Does this have anything to do with any System Settings? Cause, we are like people trying to publish reports, 2 of them are facing the issue but the other 3 can publish reports without any extra work being done.
I have this issue as well. Tableau desktop 9 and Windows 7. The Microsoft root certificate update provided nothing meaningful for my Windows 7 which has all the latest patches.
Any further ideas appreciated ?
We got this problem when switching from Windows to Mac OSX. For server communications from an OSX machine, Tableau Server requires the complete certificate chain to be installed.
I took the original certificate and created a chain file via this website: https://whatsmychaincert.com
From there it was a matter of setting the chain certificate file in the server config and i could login with my new Mac
