Hi Efi, there's not a lot of information in that error message. Take a look at the log files to see if there's anything more specific.
Thanks Jeff. Any idea where can I find such a log file?
I couldn't find any documentation about such a log file and it's location.
Log file will be generated in the same location as tde file you were trying to generate.
error at com.tableausoftware.DataExtract.Extract.<init>(Unknown Source)
You will get this error if API's bin folder is not in your path as described in Tableau Data Extract API
otherwise it means that extract could not find the path or source of tde.
If you are trying to do multithreading with Tableau Extract API, it will not work with current API version.
I got the same error "com.tableausoftware.TableauException: network error".
For me the /tmp location was full due to that I got this error.
The dataextract is using the /tmp location.
Multiple threads can not write to single TDE file because concurrency is not supported in data extract API.
I have one doubt, can we run TDE extract as parallel.
For example I need to create 5 TDE file.
So can I create 5 threads and each threads assign to one tde.
My experience is that you can create 5 TDE files in 5 different threads, but you cannot create one single TDE files from 5 threads. Concurrency is not supported for inserting into one single tde table
