unsupported function is required for relative date filters

I'm trying to connect a PostgreSQL database to Tableau via an ODBC driver. When I try to connect the data source, I get the following error that prevents me from being able to use relative dates:

"This ODBC driver does not support important capabilities used by Tableau.

This unsupported function is required for relative date filters: The date part named 'week' for the date function: DATETRUNC(date_part, date, [start_of_week]) "

The PostgreSQL db is built to mirror a mongo db, and when I use an ODBC driver to connect directly to mongo I do not get this error. The data type in PostgreSQL is TIMESTAMP.

What's going wrong? How can I get the full functionality out of my dates?
