      “Supply Chain Analytics at AMD”

      DESCRIPTION

      Shows has been with AMD for 2 years and is currently working on a project to transform data coming out of AMD’s proprietary MRP system to Tableau-based reports. The objective of this project is to sharply reduce time in repetitive analysis and enable analysts to conduct new types of analysis. In the first phase of this project, 17 reports were implemented covering demand/supply/inventory/capacity and limit areas. Features include exceptional highlighting, dataset comparison, customized pivoting, and others. In the next phase of this project, more advanced features such as network flow tracing, cross report linking will be enabled.

       

      Technology/tools involved: Tableau, Tableau Javascript API, Tableau CMD,  SQLServer, WCF, Redwood, R, and a proprietary application.

       

      BIOGRAPHY

      Shows is originally from Shanghai, majored in computer science. Worked on business research & presales for banking solution for a couple years. Came to US and graduated with MBA degree from UT in 2012.

       

      The variety of skillsets allow him to drive operational excellence through innovative ways, one of his major achievements is to lead, design and implement an operational reporting project utilizing Tableau for with the focus on user experience.
