    Embed TableauViz Object in frame

    R B

Our Tableau applications require access to the html within the iframe produced by a Tableau embed. The iframe is attached to the # tableauViz object.

Attempting to access the iframe contents from our server (http://XXXX.xxxx/) results in the following error:

Uncaught SecurityError: Failed to read the 'contentDocument' property from 'HTMLIFrameElement': Blocked a frame with origin "http://XXXX.xxxx" from accessing a frame with origin "https://tableauserver>". The frame requesting access has a protocol of "http", the frame being accessed has a protocol of "https". Protocols must match.

      Please suggest a resolution

      Thanks

          RB,

I believe this is a browser wanring/error where the browser is attempting to save you from what it perceives to be a security issue (namely, the mixing of http with embedded https).  I believe there are settings for different browsers that can bypass the warning -- but most likely that will annoy your users.  So, would it be possible to apply a certificate to the website hosting the iframe so it can be https too?

          Regards,

          Joshua
