# Combining Multiple Latitude and Longitude measures in one map

Is there a way to combine 2 sets of latitude and longitude measures (ie. 4 columns of data) on one map?  I suppose I could reshape into one set (2 columns), but even then I run into issues using both on map whene I show all the locations, but everything is also showing scattered on vertical and horizontal line on map.

John,

My first thought is to UNION your data set to itself to get one set of lat and lon with a dimensional attribute that describes what the set is.

E.g.:

SELECT 'Set 1' as Description, Lat1 as Lat, Lon1 as Lon

FROM Table

UNION

SELECT 'Set 2' as Description, Lat2 as Lat, Lon2 as Lon

FROM Table

Joshua

Joshua is right, only two columns are allowed one for lat and one for long.

BUT... you could use the dual axis graph and drag twice the lat and long on column and raw shelf.

Depict two measures on the same map

Search | Tableau Software

Cristian.

John,

Do you have two tables?  Or one table?  Do you have a start lat/long and an end lat/long?

Can you export these or the table to CSV and attach here?

Many thanks,

Allan

Thanks Joshua!  This was in effect what I ended up doing, although performing the union manually through copy and paste on Excel table to prove out method.

Thanks Cristian!  I knew about the dual axis of using the same LAT/LON columns so that you could vary your marks, which is what I ended up doing in combination with union method outline by Joshua above to achieve required end result.
