Is your Tableau Server instance running the latest release of the software? This may be a problem that has already been addressed.
We are using tableau server instance version 8.1.1 (8100.13.1202.0916) 64-bit.
What steps I should perform to resolve issue?
If you can easily upgrade your Tableau Server instance, that would be the first step in helping isolate this specific problem independently from other issues that may have since been addressed. But I think you will need to contact Support (firstname.lastname@example.org), since I took another look at your error message and I'm now concerned that this may be a new type of error. The Support team will then work with you to collect logs from Desktop and Server that demonstrate the occurrence of this problem, which will help us investigate and fix it.
Here are some troubleshooting steps to try:
Ensure all Windows Updates have been installed on the computer running Tableau Server.
Verify what certificates are installed in the “Trusted Root Certification Authorities” storage in Windows on the computer running Tableau Server. Compare this list with the same storage on the machine where Tableau Desktop is installed.
- On the machine running Tableau Server go to “Control Panel” -> “Internet Options”
- Open “Content” tab
- Press “Certificates” button
- Open “Trusted Root Certification Authorities” tab
If a certificate is missing from the list that appears on the Tableau Desktop machine, please import it from the other machine.
Upgrade Tableau Desktop to the most recent version.
If any of these steps solves the issue, please let us know! We would like to document the solution.
