    how do you convert a week number (1-52) to a date

      Newbie trying to convert a week number 1-52 to a date range to plot activity over time.  Seems like it would be easy.

          Hi Martin,

           

          I'm assuming you have week number as a separate field in your table.

          1)So firstly, convert your week number field into a dimension.(If its a dimension already, ignore this step.)
          2)Then right click on it and change data type to 'Date'.

          3)Now right click and drag the changed field onto your rows, select discrete week number from that list. If your values are missing then select 'Show missing values' from the drop down.

           

          Even i'm a newbie so do let me know if my method is wrong or if you have found a better alternative!

            Hi Martin,

             

            You could create a calculated field utilizing as:

            DATEADD('week',[YourWeekField],#1/1/2013#)

             

            Of course, this works if all your data is for a single year.

            Once you start spanning years, you'll need a more robust solution.
